VAN LIFE WITHOUT THE VAN PRICE TAG
Bought this as a cheaper way into the van life thing. Genuinely shocked at how solid it feels. Slept better in this than I have in most hotels. Summer sorted.
SCOTLAND ON A WHIM, NO BOOKINGS NEEDED
Drove up to the Highlands on a Friday with zero plans. Pulled over when the view was right and slept on top of the car. That's it. That's the whole review. Nothing else compares.
UP IN 60 SECONDS, SERIOUSLY
Setup and pack-down takes less time than pitching a normal tent porch. My kids were asleep in it before I'd finished a cup of tea. Zero faff, exactly as described.

Will a TentBox fit my car?
TentBox fits the vast majority of cars with standard roof bars, including hatchbacks, saloons, SUVs, and pickups. Use our free vehicle compatibility checker to confirm your exact make and model in seconds.
How long does it take to set up?
Depends on the model. The TentBox GO and Classic open in 60 seconds. The Cargo deploys in just 30 seconds via auto gas-strut. Even our manual Lite models are up in around 5 minutes. No poles, no pegs, no instructions needed.
How does a TentBox compare to a campervan?
A campervan costs £30,000 to £50,000 and needs its own parking space. A TentBox turns your current car into a sleep-anywhere machine for a fraction of that. You keep your daily driver, drop the campsite booking, and wake up wherever the road took you.
Is it warm and waterproof enough for UK weather?
Yes. TentBox canvas uses 280gsm rip-stop polyester with a 3000mm hydrostatic head rating and our patented design cuts condensation inside the tent. It holds firm in winds up to 39mph. Built and tested for British conditions.
Will it fit someone over 6ft tall?
The TentBox Lite XL has the largest interior of any model in the range and comfortably fits taller sleepers. Check the spec sheet for exact interior dimensions before you buy.
Can one person set it up alone?
Yes. Every TentBox model is designed for solo use. The auto-opening Cargo and Classic models need one hand and a few seconds. The manual Lite range takes around 5 minutes solo. No partner required.
Can I leave it on my car all year?
Yes. TentBox hard-shell models use steel-reinforced aluminium panels with stainless steel hardware built to live on your roof through every season. The cover protects the unit when not in use. Just know it will affect fuel economy at motorway speeds.
